6 TIPS FOR PREPARING FOR BACK TO SCHOOL

We’re back and here to help you prepare for the upcoming school year the best way we know how (with lots of planning). With a new year comes new routines! We’re giving some tips on how to get back into the swing of things and prepare all your littles for this big adjustment!

1. CREATE A BEDTIME ROUTINE

Before the big day, make sure you gradually introduce a nightly routine for everyone to get acclimated to all the changes. Whether it’s cutting the screen time early or getting into bed at a set time, doing this prior to the night before the first day of school will help everyone adjust more smoothly!

2. WORK OUT A MORNING WAKE UP TIME

Create a morning routine and wake up the kids at their soon-to-be regular wake up time. If your kids are a bit older, have them set up their alarms!

3. PLAN OUT A HEALTHY BREAKFAST

Mornings are usually hectic so having breakfast options that are healthy and easy to bring on-the-go are always great. Look up easy recipes for the family and make sure to add your favorites into your planner using our Recipe Filler PaperTry a recipe for overnight oats, stock up on nutritious granola bars, and always keep snacks on hand for those busy days!

4. PLAN AHEAD FOR PACKING LUNCHES

If you pack lunches, this Weekly Meal Plan Calendar is perfect for the family. Hang it on the fridge or common area and plan out what the kids can bring for lunch. Browse ideas that you can make ahead of time or pack leftovers from the night before! Don’t forget to add a sweet note of encouragement to get them through the day!

5. KEEP THE WHOLE FAMILY ON TRACK

With school back in full swing, there will be plenty of busy activities for the family. Keep track of sports, music recitals, and drama rehearsals with a Dry Erase Board Calendar! Hang it up in a common area of the home and have everyone write in all their plans. Make sure to add in these Dry Erase Removable Decals that are perfect to keep you and your family on track!

6. MANAGE ACADEMIC SCHEDULES

Teaching the fundamentals of planning will improve study habits for students of all ages! If your kids are old enough to write and manage their coursework, introducing a Student Happy Planner can help them keep track of homework assignments and study for tests! Show them that planning can be fun by adding in Student Sticker Books to their routine.

We wish all our teachers, students, and parents a wonderful new school year! We’re so excited to see everyone break into their Happy Planner favorites for back to school. Make sure you share your haul with us on social @the_happy_planner

Happy Planning!
